From Japan With Love
“ A thing of beauty is a joy forever ” – my six months of stay in Japan lead me to a better understanding of this quote by the well-known poet, John Keats. Two months have passed since my return from Japan, yet I feel so nostalgic about the country and the Japan foundation Institute, which became my second home. The beauty of this country is visible in every aspect; be it, culture, tradition, cleanliness or technology. If you stay in Japan for a while, it is bound to leave an indelible mark on your mind.
For me, it was a unique experience in every sense. It brought into my life some of the best teachers and also a few of the most unforgettable friendships. More than anything, it changed my entire perspective on language learning. I understood the true joy of knowing a different language. Also it brought to fore the fact, that your knowledge of a language is incomplete if you cannot use a language to convey your thoughts or to understand others. Therefore, I would urge all the language learners who are reading this article to trust my experience and cherish what you know so far. The key is to use your knowledge as much as you can. It doesn’t matter if you make mistakes in this process. As long as you communicate, you have reached your goal. Just focus on your “can-do” because when it comes to language, there will always be something that will remain to be conquered!
